I have been in Mumbai since birth. My parents were also born here. Once you start living in Mumbai eating its food and adopting its culture it very much hard to think about living anywhere else, lots of people say it busy life always running and never stopping, But Mumbai has its own pace and Mumbaikars know where to take break and where to run.
If you look at stations of Mumbai you will always see people in hurry well the major reason of this is the trains are sometime running slow and if you miss this one you are not sure when the next one is arriving. Office workers run because if they arrive late in office they will be marked half day payment which is not good at all. But if you stop for a moment and look around you will find people having break and eating Vada pav, missal pav on the platforms, talking to each other laughing, waiting for friends colleges, students bunking and having a fast meal, vendors selling tea, waters, snacks around.
Mumbaikars usually have this small meals 2 3 times a day when they are out travelling, going from one place to another etc. while we talked about most famous ones but if you go deep inside you will find hundreds of possible dished like Chinese bhel which is fried noodles in spicy red chutney. pakoda of differed types like spinach, lauki, dal chana, potato bhajji, mirchi bhajji etc.
Mumbai is filled with different cuisine at different location If you walk around a place near Mosque during Ramzan you will find many chicken items like kebabs, rolls, fried chicken pakoras, leg fry, liver fry, oh my god the list will never end. You can visit Mohammad Ali road whole night during Ramzan the place never sleep and whole night you will get so many variety of dishes from kebab platters to main course to desserts like falooda and double ka meetha.
