We all know Mumbai has some unique street foods to offer. But this is not only famous in Mumbai, you can try this Mumbai Chaat in most of the cities in India. Why not try to make Mumbai Chaat at home with this recipe. Our girls usually love this chaat and they do eat it whenever they go to shopping, classes, coming from job etc. Lets surprise them by making Mumbai Chaat at home for them with this recipe.

Ingredients for Mumbai Chaat.

  • 2 medium sized potatoes
  • 1 cup chickpeas
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 green chili
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp tamarind chutney
  • 1 tsp mint chutney
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 4-5 papdis (small fried flatbreads)
  • Sev (Indian fried noodles) for garnish
  • 3 kg of Love. 1 cup of Kisses hehe!

Making of Potatoes for Mumbai Chaat

Boil the potatoes, dice them and then fry them in oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the boiled and diced potatoes until they are golden brown.

In a large mixing bowl, mix together the fried potatoes, boiled chickpeas, chopped onion, tomato, green chili, coriander leaves, tamarind chutney, mint chutney, chaat masala, and salt.

Add the crushed papdis to the mixture and gently mix.

Transfer the mixture to a serving plate and sprinkle with sev on top. Serve immediately and enjoy the tangy and spicy flavors of Mumbai-style chaat.

How to serve Mumbai Chaat.

Serve it with your choice of toppings

  • Yogurt
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • A sprinkle of cumin powder or chaat masala
  • but don’t forget to sprinkle some love and kisses.
